The shawl in our mystery knitalong this year is called “Mauru'uru”, which means “thank you” in the Tahitian language. We would like to say a big thank you to all of you for your participation in what is now the fifth TahitiKAL.
These instructions are a free offer to anyone who would like to knit along. If you don't like the shawl or would rather be on the safe side and see the full design first, you can simply knit one of the other four free TahitiKAL designs that have been published so far instead.
All sections build on each other in shape and number of stitches. If you are considering making adjustments to the scarf (larger or smaller), please wait until all 4 sections have appeared so you can then make your calculations.
If you would rather knit pure Merino wool instead of cotton, you can simply use Schachenmayr Merino Extrafine 285. The yarn has an almost identical running length and can replace the Schachenmayr Tahiti without any further adjustments.
For the MIKANO Slipover in one size, simply knit two rectangles in stockinette stitch and different lengths with a cuff in a moss stitch. For a particularly beautiful, airy fall, the model is knitted very loosely. Then all you have to do is close the shoulder seams and sew on the side ties. The casual “overcoat” is ready to wear.
The instructions are available in German, English, French and Dutch.
Scarf JIL has a simple pattern of knit and purl stitches and is knitted with needle size 6 from just one 150 g ball of the “Limited Edition” Samu Color.
The instructions are available in DE, EN, FR and NL.
Shawl VILAINE is started at one corner and increasing on one side creates the triangular shape. A great introductory project to knitting because you only have to knit right stitches until your ball is finished. Shortly before the end of the ball you bind off and with just one ball of the “Limited Edition” Jara (100 g) you create a cloth measuring approx. 117 x 80 cm. The instructions are available in German, English, French and Dutch.
